Q: How is this a Wiki project?A: Everyone is able to add new entry directly into the database of the website. This is therefore a community driven initiative so if you want to add a new machine or want to update / compliment an earlier entry you are able to do so.
Q: How do I submit a new entry?
A: Simply go to the "Cabinet List", scroll down to the bottom and click on the button "Add New Cabinet" and you are good to good.
Q: Is my submission a "candy"?
A: In order to be considered a candy on this website, the cabinet MUST
1) be intended for generic arcade gaming purposes
2) originate from an East Asian country
AND at least one of the following should be true:
1) Cabinet is a sitdown
2) Cabinet is made primarily of plastic or metal
if not, the following must be true:
1) Cabinet shares a model series with a candy cabinet (ie: Aero Table, Super Megalo, etc.)
If your submission seems to violate these guidelines, feel free to contact me so we can decide on any revisions of the above rules.
Q: Add a new Candy Cab form, what does it all mean?
A: Let me try to give you the answers here. If after this you still have questions please feel free to contact me through the contact page.
Name: The original name for the candy cabinet that was given by the manufacturer. Example: New Astro City.
AKA: Variations or nicknames of the candy cab which it is known for. Example the New Astro City is also known as NAC.
Related models: Here you can add names to predecessors, succesors or varations of the same machine for as far as you know those.
Type: You can choose from sitdown, upright, cabaret, cocktail and if you feel something else is more relevant feel free to use that.
Country: In which country/countries was the candy cabinet released?
Company: Which company released the candy cabinet?
Year: In which year was the candy released (if you know the month or season that would be awesome).
Dimensions: What is the depth, height and width of the candy preferable in milimeters?
Weight: How much does the candy weigh preferably in kilogram?
Wiring default: How was the candy wired on release? JAMMA/JVS/Custom etc.
Current: What was Voltage Alternating Current of the candy?
Power: What was the power used by the candy cabinet? Most of them have a +5V(Volt) and +12V but there can be a lot of deviations.
Monitor: What kind of monitor was originally put into the candy cab?
Rotatable: Did the candy cab originally have a rotating mechanisme built-in? This can be a mechanical or manual system just as long as no adjustments are to be made to the cabinet in order to be able to rotate the screen.
Q: How do I upload pictures?
A: FTP is no longer necessary to upload pictures. Use the edit link on each candy entry to find the upload utility.
Q: I have no idea how this stuff works. Can I just send in a writeup?
A: No problem. Just use the contact form to send it over.
Q: Can I submit a writeup of something related to a candy?
A: Absolutely. Feel free to submit monitor writeups, reviews, button comparisons, etc. All we ask is that it bears relevance to candy cabinets.
Q: How do I make links to other content?
A: Use {curly braces}. If the content doesn't currently exist, a question mark will be placed to the right side of the link, offering you or someone else a chance to create the content.
